The Viperbite Grapple improves safety and efficiency around the farm, on the acreage, and in the garden by securing loads during lifting, bunching, raking jobs. The low-profile grapple attachment for John Deere compact or subcompact tractors adds a clamping function to the bucket that stabilizes loads as it assists with lifting and moving material.
At the heart of the Viperbite Grapple is a Parker Hannifin Compact Electro-Hydraulic Actuator (EHA), a self-contained, bi-directional, DC motor-driven cylinder.
Viperbite inventor, and owner of Crown Fabricating in Delisle, Saskatchewan, Alvin Klassen sourced the Parker EHA to power the grapple because of their power, reliability, and clean installation, free of hydraulic lines and couplers. Parker EHA’s deliver up to 4,800 lbf of force with speeds of up to 84 (3.3 in) per second making them the excellent source of power for an aftermarket equipment add-on like the Viperbite Grapple.
Initial installation of Viperbite takes a mere half hour, thereon after temporarily removed/re-installed in seconds. The Viperbite Grapple kit includes a wiring harness, a reversing solenoid, and a weather proof toggle switch that mounts on the tractor’s joy-stick lever. This rugged, low profile grapple weighs under 100 pounds and is a must for every tractor owner who needs to get things done the right way.
